Sigma Phi Epsilon
Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded at Richmond College, now the University of Richmond, on November 1, 1901, on the Cardinal Principles: Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love. Today, the Fraternity has grown to more than 262,000 lifetime members, including 13,500 undergraduates on 260 campuses in the United States. SigEp is currently the largest fraternity in terms of undergraduate enrollment.
Here at the University of Evansville, the men of Sigma Phi Epsilon are committed to a tradition of excellence. Whether it is in intramural, academics, or involvement on campus, our chapter is consistently at the front of the pack. During the 2006 school year, we placed first in intramural points, recruited 30 new members during formal recruitment, and raised more than $3,500 to benefit Youth First. Our chapter also won Homecoming, Greek Week, and Best Overall Greek Team at this year's Relay For Life. In addition to the events that we participate in, the men of SigEp are very active socially on campus. In fact, of the 4 national sororities on campus, 2 of them have named a SigEp as their man of the year for 2007. As for academics, the fraternity schedules weekly study hours that everyone is invited to attend, we have a study lounge in the house with 24/7 quiet hours, and require bi-weekly grade reports from all new members.
